Monday, Monday . . .

Whew. What a day.

The day started out safe enough, with some errands and a quick trip into the office. I had an early lunch with my wife, and then it was up to Portland to record the radio spots for Comcast. That whole deal went great, and was a lot of fun. It was my first time in the recording booth, so a new experience was had. I’m glad I got the chance to do it.

On the way home, my brakes started making some funny noises, but I assumed they were wet since it has been raining here for about 8 straight days, and there’s standing water everywhere.

The noise quickly progressed to a stutter, and then to a grab, some scraping noises, and finally a total seizure of the right front brake in forward motion. That’s right, my freakin’ brakes locked up completely. I’m not certain, but I think this was actually the first story I wrote about in my blog about 1 year ago when the EXACT same problem occurred and I fixed it myself. (ADDENDUM: It was included in my first post as a photo, not an actual story . . .)

So, waiting in the parking lot of a rural general store for 2 hours. Being glad I agreed to getting the road side assistance from Cingular with my cell phone, but wishing I knew the number to call. Getting a tow truck to come and haul my poor Land Rover back to the Les Schwab in Newberg. Hoping it’s not going to cost me $1000 to fix. Blech.

Today will start with me getting a rental car so that I can actually function, and getting in to work in time for my floor time. Fortunately, I have two home is escrow, one of which should close this week. I also have checks on the way from DigitalTrends and this Comcast gig. I’m glad I have the money to cover the mess, but I just wish I didn’t have to spend it on this. Better than the alternative I guess, eh?

Now, more than ever, I wish we had a second car . . .

What a coincidence … my Honda needs new brakes too, maybe we can hang out at Les Schwab together.

Chris - I bought your red Geo a few years back and attended school with Charity. I recently moved back to Oregon and totally want to get in touch with you two again - sorry for doing this on your website. Sorry to hear about the car (STILL having car trouble?), but very HAPPY for Charity’s recent success at jumping the final hoop. Please email or have her email me at susan1hall@hotmail.com.

P.S. Well done with persuing your acting career!
