Well, the shoot went well on Saturday.

It was a web video ad for Best Buy, so keep your eyes open in the next couple weeks for something to hit. I’m sitting in an airplane seat with a laptop, trying to ignore a talkative neighbor.

It was actually a pretty fun shoot. It was my first green screen shoot, which was kind of odd. I’m really interested to see what it’s actually going to look like.

I had a 3:30 call for wardrobe and makeup, so I loaded up a garment bag to the point of bursting and drove for 45 minutes to find the studio we were shooting in. When I get there, the wardrobe lady has left to get some stuff from Macy’s to complete the outfit for an earlier shoot (they did 18 vignettes that day), so I end up sitting around for about an hour before I get in to have my outfit chosen. When it finally happens, I end up wearing my pants. Everything else was theirs. The big ass garment bag I brought was unnecessary. Damn, it was HEAVY too. Of course, if I didn’t bring it they’d need something from it . . .

The shoot itself was hilarious. The lady next to me was supposed to just prattle on about nothing, like an annoying seat partner on a long flight. She was SOOO good at it too. Every time the started a take, she would come up with some new stream of consciousness tyrade that had the whole crew in stitches. Of course, I couldn’t laugh, but I really, really wanted to. I can’t wait to see how it turns out.

Deathtrap rehearsal last night was a fun one. For the most part we were working on some technical business. We experimented with our blood effects, which worked nicely. Some of them were really creepy. I also practiced with the crossbow, which I was little scared about. With just a little care, it should be pretty safe, and should look really cool. We run the show again tonight as we begin the countdown to opening next Friday. It should be a blast. If you’re in the area, you really need to come see it!

I want to buy a ticket but between that and the flight/hotel it would probably cost about $1000!

The Best Buy shoot sounds like it was a good time. Congrats on that, once again.
